I met Olga in 2010 at VidCon. She was a very smart, very clever, very cool young woman. I thought it was weird (but kinda cool) that Tom had found a cool fan who could hold her own with a bunch of the top-tier VidCon folks and let her behind the curtain a little bit.
Bravo, John Green and Hank Green! Now this is the way good men who are also prominent/famous should stand up again abusive relationships and violence against women and girls!

Mr Mandela is the quintessential male role model who showed with both his words and actions that it is possible to bring about change to what seems like insurmountable odds. And he did it with wisdom, courage and grace.
We wish Mr Mandela’s family sincere condolences; And to Mr Mandela - RIP! You have inspired many young activists working to achieve peace and non-violence in all areas of human society. The Pixel Project is one of them. We will miss you very much. And while ending violence against women seems like an impossible feat, we will remember what you’ve achieved in your 95 years of life and we will keep fighting on.
CAMPAIGN LAUNCH: The Pixel Project is proud to kick off our 4th “16 For 16” blogging campaign in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence! As is our custom, we are kicking off our campaign with our annual list of 16 female role models who work to stop violence against women in their communities. This year’s list comprises women from 13 countries and 4 continents. Please help us shine a light on their courage and commitment to the end of violence against women and girls by reblogging this list:
Bystander Intervention is a superpower that we all can have if we step up to intervene to stop the violence against women and girls as it is happening. It can be dangerous but there are safe ways of doing so including not going it alone (e.g. roping in friends and other bystanders to help as a group) and creating a distraction for the aggressor.
What have YOU done to intervene to stop street harassment or any other form of Violence Against Women?
It’s time to stop violence against women. Together.
Every year, approximately 14 million girls are married before they turn 18, robbed of their rights to education, health and a life free of violence. Child marriage undermines our efforts to build a healthier, safer, just and more prosperous world for all.
Solutions exist. Child marriage can end. But we must work together.
This new video from Girls Not Brides looks at how we can work together to make child marriage history and improve the lives of millions of girls around the globe.
The Pixel Project, the award-nominated volunteer-led virtual 501(c)3 non-profit working to stop Violence Against Women (VAW) worldwide, is proud to present a very special edition of their monthly Inspirational Interview series – a mini documentary on Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the UK featuring Integrate Bristol, an anti-FGM group. The documentary is aimed at raising awareness about what FGM is, how this form of VAW is being tackled in the UK and ideas for preventing, detecting and stopping FGM in the country.
Help us take this mini-documentary and its very important message about stopping FGM viral.
“Teach your sons to respect women” is the singularly important message communicated by Tash McCarroll, winner of UN Women’s ‘Freedom from Violence’ photo competition. Do you agree with her? #orangeurworld
